Parent teacher conferences are held each term. At Silver Oaks we recognize the importance of parents as contributors to the child's education and aim to work together with them to ensure that children's needs are met. Regular communication between school and home is encouraged. Parents can also make an appointment to see their child's teacher or principal in case they have any concern related to their child's progress. Parents' opinions and views are valued; parent-teacher
interaction is integral to the success of a child's schooling.
Parent's cooperation is required in the following areas:
- Students to be regular and punctual in attendance. School gates are closed at 8:00 am.
- In case of sick-leave medical certificate must be provided.
- Students must come to school in proper uniform.
- Students are not allowed to leave before full time.
- No double parking at full time, to avoid traffic problems. Parents are requested not to turn cars.
- Avoid tuitions, home-study according to a fixed schedule must be supervised by parents.
- Parents must fix their child's home study time. Please note that oral homework is as important as the written home task.
- School diary is very important. It is used for writing daily oral and written homework. It can be used by teachers for sending notes to parents.
- A meeting can be fixed with the Senior Mistress, class/subject teachers through the diary. It is also used for timetable, date-sheet and monthly test results. It must be signed by parents.
